ATI Industrial Automation (ATI) has announced the release of its GBX 10 Gigabit Tool Changer Ethernet Module, designed to enhance performance and flexibility in smart manufacturing environments through high-speed, accurate communication. This module integrates effectively with systems including vision, inspection, metrology, motion control, and fieldbus systems, supporting advanced automation processes, artificial intelligence (AI) applications, and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
The GBX module is engineered to provide reliable transmission of high-speed data, signals, and fieldbus communication. Its plug-and-play M12 8-pin X-code connectors facilitate the connection of Cat6/Cat6a industrial Ethernet cables, eliminating the need for additional stripping, crimping, or soldering.
The module features configurable cable exit options between -90°, 0°, and +90° radial positions, allowing for optimized cable routing and reduced strain. It is designed to handle up to one million mating cycles, making it suitable for use in industries such as automotive, aerospace, and testing.
Compatibility with ATI Standard Tool Changers, Heavy Duty Tool Changers, and Utility Couplers supports widespread standardization across various applications. The module also supports Power over Ethernet (PoE), Class III, and offers IP65 protection when coupled, ensuring durability in demanding environments.
