Digi International has launched the Digi Connect EZ 4 TS and Digi Connect EZ 8 TS serial device servers, designed to help industrial organizations modernize legacy serial infrastructure with enhanced security, centralized management, and remote connectivity capabilities without requiring enclosure or wiring modifications.
The platform is intended for industrial, manufacturing, enterprise, and energy-sector deployments requiring secure remote access, edge automation support, and compatibility with enterprise cybersecurity standards including TLS, FIPS, VPN, RADIUS, and TACACS+ environments.
Serial connectivity technologies including RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485 continue playing an important role across industrial automation, robotics, embedded systems, energy infrastructure, retail systems, and manufacturing operations. Many installed serial environments, however, were deployed before modern cybersecurity, remote management, and centralized monitoring requirements became standard across operational technology networks.
Digi Connect EZ TS is designed to allow organizations to securely connect and manage legacy serial devices over IP networks while preserving installed infrastructure and avoiding large-scale equipment replacement projects.
“Digi Connect EZ TS delivers a secure and practical way to modernize serial connectivity while preserving existing infrastructure,” said Jon Borscheid, Senior Director of Product Management at Digi International.

The Digi Connect EZ 8 TS serial device server is designed to help industrial organizations modernize legacy serial infrastructure with secure remote connectivity, centralized management, and OT network integration capabilities.
The platform includes 4-port and 8-port models with software-selectable RS-232/422/485 support, centralized management capabilities, and integrated Digi TrustFence security technologies including encryption, authentication, VPN support, and enterprise security protocol compatibility.
Industrial organizations are increasingly prioritizing secure migration of legacy OT systems as manufacturers and infrastructure operators modernize production environments, remote operations capabilities, and industrial network architectures while attempting to minimize operational disruption and retrofit costs.
The new devices also support Digi Remote Manager and Digi On-Prem Manager platforms intended to provide centralized deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, firmware management, and remote device administration across distributed industrial environments.
A compact form factor is intended to simplify cabinet integration within industrial control environments, while Digi Navigator and Python support provide additional flexibility for edge automation and industrial integration applications.
The SOC 2 Type validated Digi Remote Manager provides cloud-based monitoring and management capabilities, while Digi On-Prem Manager supports organizations operating within air-gapped or internally managed industrial environments. In addition, Digi LifeCycle Assurance support services, featuring 1-year of centralized device management and 24×7 expert support, are now included with Digi Connect EZ 4 TS and Digi Connect EZ 8 TS.
