FANUC and Google are collaborating on development of Physical AI technologies intended to support more adaptive industrial automation and autonomous manufacturing environments.
The initiative combines FANUC industrial robotics platforms with Google AI technologies to support robotic perception, autonomous decision-making, AI-assisted task execution, and flexible manufacturing operations across factory automation environments.
Industrial automation developers are increasingly evaluating Physical AI systems capable of adapting to changing production conditions while supporting greater operational flexibility, robotic intelligence, and autonomous decision-making within manufacturing workflows.
FANUC’s industrial robotics platforms support open robotics development environments including ROS integration, external robot control, PLC connectivity, and AI development tools commonly used across industrial automation and robotics applications.
The collaboration also reflects broader movement across industrial automation environments toward AI-enabled robotics systems capable of supporting more complex and variable manufacturing operations while maintaining industrial reliability and production performance requirements.
