Designed to meet the demands of machine vision and industrial equipment imaging, the IMX925 combines high sensitivity, saturation capacity, and distortion-free imaging. This makes it particularly suitable for applications such as electronic device inspection and advanced 3D imaging, where precision and clarity are paramount.

In addition to the IMX925, Sony is introducing three additional models in the series, offering variations in sensor size and frame rate. This expanded lineup is designed to support faster and more precise recognition and inspection processes, boosting productivity across diverse industrial environments.

Optimized Circuit Structure for Speed and Efficiency

The Sony IMX925 CMOS image sensor incorporates a newly developed circuit structure that enhances pixel reading and sensor drive in the A/D converter. According to the company, this innovation delivers approximately four times the speed and twice the energy efficiency of previous models. The sensor’s reduced power consumption and faster processing capabilities are engineered to streamline measurement and inspection workflows, contributing to overall productivity gains.

Sony’s Pregius S™ Global Shutter Technology

The IMX925 employs Sony’s proprietary Pregius S™ technology, which features a stacked design with back-illuminated 2.74 µm pixels. This architecture enables high sensitivity and saturation capacity in a compact form factor, allowing the sensor to capture fast-moving objects without distortion. These characteristics make the IMX925 an ideal solution for compact, high-resolution machine vision cameras.

High-Speed Data Transmission with SLVS-EC™

The IMX925 utilizes SSS’s own SLVS-EC™ high-speed interface, supporting data transmission rates of up to 12.5 Gbps per lane. This feature enables high-resolution data transfer using fewer lanes, broadening FPGA compatibility and facilitating the development of high-speed, high-precision industrial cameras.

Compact Design for Versatile Integration

With its compact size and compatibility with the widely used C-mount standard, the IMX925 sensor integrates seamlessly into existing manufacturing lines and equipment. Its high frame rate and support for advanced inspection processes, such as 3D imaging, enhance throughput and reduce energy consumption in industrial applications.

Addressing Evolving Industry Needs

By combining speed, precision, and efficiency, Sony Semiconductor Solutions is setting new benchmarks in industrial imaging technology. The IMX925 and its accompanying product lineup are poised to drive innovation in areas ranging from factory automation to advanced inspection systems.
