WIKA has introduced the next generation of its GA11 gas analyser, designed to provide switchgear operators, manufacturers, and maintenance companies with highly precise quality measurements for SF₆ gas and alternative insulating gases.

The GA11 delivers accurate readings for humidity, gas purity, and decomposition products, using temperature-compensated sensing technology and intelligent measuring algorithms based on stability criteria to ensure maximum accuracy when assessing cleanliness and dew point. The new platform represents a significant improvement over previous versions.

WIKA gas analyser for high-precision insulating gas measurement – Process Control Industry Monthly

WIKA’s latest gas analyser delivers high-accuracy measurement of SF₆ and alternative insulating gases for switchgear operators, manufacturers, and maintenance teams.

The GA11 also offers optional sensing technologies for sulphur dioxide, hydrogen fluoride, hydrogen sulphide, and carbon monoxide, each engineered for high accuracy and long-term stability. Its lighter, more compact design makes it ideal for mobile use, housed in an impact-resistant hard case with IP65 protection against dust and water jets. At just 22 kilograms, the instrument is easily transported, aided by its integrated nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) rechargeable battery, which avoids the transport restrictions imposed on lithium-ion battery devices by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). This allows the GA11 to be carried as checked baggage, a distinct advantage for international operations.

For operational flexibility, all measurement processes are controlled via an intuitive user interface and clear menu navigation, with full functionality available in both battery and mains operation. The GA11’s closed measuring system also prevents emissions into the atmosphere by returning the measured gas to its compartment or collecting it in an external recovery bag, supporting environmentally responsible handling.
